Hallelujah

Hallelujah
By:Bamboo

Kaibigan
Hangat ako’y humihinga may pag-asa pa

Chorus:

Hallelujah

Sinong sawa sinong galit
Sumigaw ngayong gabi

Hallelujah

Narration:
Blinded by the light
I could barely see the faces in front of me
Asking me where do we begin
Well for starters from within
Im ashamed of what I’ve become in the mirror
The face of my one true enemy
Hallelujah it’s a new day
Let take control if I have to take this message door to door
Save myself save every soul
With permission I make this my personal mission
Save me from the fire… from the fire

Ngayong gabi ako ang sundalo mo
Habang ikay tulog akoy gising nakabantay sa iyo - kasi mahal kita
Tingnan mo pag-ibig ko’y sa iyo lamang

Sandalan

Sandalan
By:6 Cycle Mind

Kanina pa kitang pinagmamasdan
Mukha mo'y di maipinta
Malungkot ka na naman

Kanina pa kitang inaalok nang
Kwentuhang masaya
Parang sayo'y balewala

Sandali nga
Teka lang
May nakalimutan ka
Di ba't pwede mo akong iyakan

Sige lang
Sandal ka na
At wag mong pipigilan
I-iyak mo na ang lahat sa langit
I-iyak mo lang ang lahat sa akin (2x)

(dahil) andito lang ako naghihintay
Lagi mong tatandaan
Di ka na nagiisa

(dahil) andito lang ako makikinig sayo
Sa buong magdamag
Sakin di ka balewala

Sige lang

Sige lang sige lang

There You'll Be

There You'll Be
By:Faith Hill

When I think back
On these times
And the dreams
We left behind
I’ll be glad 'cause
I was blessed to get
To have you in my life
When I look back
On these days
I’ll look and see your face
You were right there for me

In my dreams
I’ll always see you soar
Above the sky
In my heart
There always be a place
For you for all my life
I’ll keep a part
Of you with me
And everywhere I am
There you’ll be

Well you showed me
How it feels
To feel the sky
Within my reach
And I always
Will remember all
The strength you
Gave to me
Your love made me
Make it through
Oh, I owe so much to you
You were right there for me

In my dreams
I’ll always see you soar
Above the sky
In my heart
There always be a place
For you for all my life
I’ll keep a part
Of you with me
And everywhere I am
There you’ll be

'Cause I always saw in you
My light, my strength
And I want to thank you
Now for all the ways
You were right there for me
You were right there for me
For always

In my dreams
I’ll always see you soar
Above the sky
In my heart
There always be a place
For you for all my life
I’ll keep a part
Of you with me
And everywhere I am
There you’ll be

Breath

Breath
By:Faith Hill

I can feel the magic floating in the air
Being with you gets me that way
I watch the sunlight dance across your face
And i've never been this swept away
All my thoughts just seem to settle on the breeze
When i'm lying wrapped up in your arms
The whole world just fades away
The only thing I hear
Is the beating of your heart

CHORUS:
Cause I can feel you breathe
It's washing over me
And suddenly i'm melting into you
There's nothing left to prove
Baby, all we need is just to be
Caught up in the touch
Slow and steady rush
Baby, isn't that the way that love's suppose to be
I can feel you breathe

In a way I know my heart is waking up
As all the walls come tumbling down
Closer than i've ever felt before
And I know, and you know
There's no need for words right now

CHORUS:

I can feel the magic floating in the air
Being with you gets me that way...

Vogue

Vogue
By:Madonna

Strike a pose
Strike a pose
Vogue, vogue, vogue
Vogue, vogue, vogue

Look around everywhere you turn is heartache
It's everywhere that you go (look around)
You try everything you can to escape
The pain of life that you know (life that you know)

When all else fails and you long to be
Something better than you are today
I know a place where you can get away
It's called a dance floor, and here's what it's for, so

[Chorus:]

Come on, vogue
Let your body move to the music (move to the music)
Hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow (go with the flow)
You know you can do it

All you need is your own imagination
So use it that's what it's for (that's what it's for)
Go inside, for your finest inspiration
Your dreams will open the door (open up the door)

It makes no difference if you're black or white
If you're a boy or a girl
If the music's pumping it will give you new life
You're a superstar, yes, that's what you are, you know it

[chorus, substituting "groove" for "move"]

Beauty's where you find it
Not just where you bump and grind it
Soul is in the musical
That's where I feel so beautiful
Magical, life's a ball
So get up on the dance floor

[chorus]

Vogue, (Vogue)
Beauty's where you find it (move to the music)
Vogue, (Vogue)
Beauty's where you find it (go with the flow)

Greta Garbo, and Monroe
Deitrich and DiMaggio
Marlon Brando, Jimmy Dean
On the cover of a magazine

Grace Kelly; Harlow, Jean
Picture of a beauty queen
Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire
Ginger Rodgers, dance on air

They had style, they had grace
Rita Hayworth gave good face
Lauren, Katherine, Lana too
Bette Davis, we love you

Ladies with an attitude
Fellows that were in the mood
Don't just stand there, let's get to it
Strike a pose, there's nothing to it

Vogue, vogue

Oooh, you've got to
Let your body move to the music
Oooh, you've got to just
Let your body go with the flow
Oooh, you've got to
Vogue

Lucky
By:Britney Spears

This is the story about a girl named Lucky.

Early morning
She wakes up
Knock, knock, knock on the door

It's time for makeup
Perfect smile
It's you they're all waiting for

Isn't she lovely
This Hollywood girl

And they say..
She's so Lucky
She's a star
But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart
Thinking, if there's nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night?

Lost in an image, in a dream
But there's no one there to wake her up
And the world is spinning and she keeps on winning
But tell me, what happens when it stops

Baby

Isn't she lovely?
This Hollywood girl

And they say..
She's so lucky
She's a star
But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart
Thinking, if there's nothign missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night?

Isn't she lovely?
This Hollywood girl

She's soo lucky
But why does she cry?
If there is nothing missing in her life
Why do tears come at night?

And they say..
She's so lucky,
She's a star
But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart
Thinking, if there's nothing missing in my life
Then why do these tears come at night?

Baby One More Time

Baby One More Time
By:Britney Spears

Oh baby, baby
Oh baby, baby
Oh baby, baby
How was I supposed to know
That something wasn't right here
Oh baby baby
I shouldn't have let you go
And now you're out of sight, yeah
Show me, how you want it to be
Tell me baby
'Cause I need to know now what we've got

[CHORUS:]
My loneliness is killing me
I must confess, I still believe
When I'm not with you I lose my mind
Give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time

Oh baby, baby
The reason I breathe is you
Boy you got me blinded
Oh baby, baby
There's nothing that I wouldn't do
That's not the way I planned it
Show me, how you want it to be
Tell me baby
'Cause I need to know now what we've got

[Repeat CHORUS]

Oh baby, baby
Oh baby, baby
Ah, yeah, yeah
Oh baby, baby
How was I supposed to know
Oh pretty baby
I shouldn't have let you go
I must confess, that my loneliness
Is killing me now
Don't you know I still believe
That you will be here
And give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time

[Repeat CHORUS]

I must confess that my loneliness
Is killing me now
Don't you know I still believe
That you will be here
And give me a sign
Hit me baby one more time

Sometimes

Sometimes
By:Britney Spears

You tell me you're in love with me
Like you can't take your pretty eyes away from me
It's not that I don't want to stay
But every time you come too close I move away

I wanna believe in everything that you say
'Cause it sounds so good
But if you really want me, move slow
There's things about me you just have to know

Sometimes I run
Sometimes I hide
Sometimes I'm scared of you
But all I really want is to hold you tight
Treat you right
Be with you day and night
Baby all I need is time

I don't wanna be so shy
Every time that I'm alone I wonder why
Hope that you will wait for me
You'll see that you're the only one for me

I wanna believe in everything that you say
'Cause it sounds so good
But if you really want me, move slow
There's things about me you just have to know

Sometimes I run
Sometimes I hide
Sometimes I'm scared of you
But all I really want is to hold you tight
Treat you righ
Be with you day and night
Baby all I need is time

Just hang around and you'll see
There's nowhere I'd rather be
If you love me, trust in me
The way that I trust in you

Sometimes I run
Sometimes I hide
Sometimes I'm scared of you
But all I really want is to hold you tight
Treat you right
Be with you day and night
Baby all I need is time

Toxic

Toxic
By:Britney Spears

Baby, can’t you see
I’m calling
A guy like you
Should wear a warning
It’s dangerous
I’m fallin’

There’s no escape
I can’t wait
I need a hit
Baby, give me it
You’re dangerous
I’m lovin’ it

Too high
Can’t come down
Losing my head
Spinning ‘round and ‘round
Do you feel me now

With a taste of your lips
I’m on a ride
You’re toxic
I’m slipping under
With a taste of poison paradise
I’m addicted to you
Don’t you know that you’re toxic
And I love what you do
Don’t you know that you’re toxic

It’s getting late
To give you up
I took a sip
From my devil cup
Slowly
It’s taking over me

Too high
Can’t come down
It’s in the air
And it’s all around
Can you feel me now

With a taste of your lips
I’m on a ride
You’re toxic
I’m slipping under
With a taste of poison paradise
I’m addicted to you
Don’t you know that you’re toxic
And I love what you do
Don’t you know that you’re toxic

Don't you know that you're toxic

With a tast of your lips
I'm on a ride
You're toxic
I'm slipping under
With a taste of poison paradise
I'm addicted to you
Don't you know that you're toxic

Intoxicate me now
With your lovin' now
I think I'm ready now
I think I'm ready now
Intoxicate me now
With your lovin' now
I'm ready now

Balisong

Balisong

By:Rivermaya

Your face lights up the sky on the highway.
Someday, you'll share your world with me someday.
You mesmerize me with diamond eyes;
I try to fool myself to think I'll be alright.
But I am losing all control -
My mind, my heart, my body and my soul

Never in my life have I been more sure,
So come on up to me and close the door.
Nobody's made me feel this way before;
You're everything I wanted and more.

To speak or not to; where to begin.
The way dilemmas I'm finding myself in.
For all I know you only see me as a friend.
I try to tell myself wake up fool; this fairy tale's got to end.

"Never in my life have I been more sure,
So come on up to me and close the door.
Nobody's made me feel this way before;
You're everything I wanted (more)." (Repeat 2x)

You're everything I wanted

Narda
By:Kamikazee
Tila ibon kung lumipad
Sumabay sa hangin
Akoy napatingin
Sa dalagang nababalot ng hiwaga...

Mapapansin kaya
Sa dami ng 'yong ginagawa
Kung kaagaw ko ang lahat
May pag asa bang makilala ka...

Awit na nananawagan
Baka sakaling napakikinggan
Pag ibig na palaisipan
Sa kanta na lang idaraan...

Nag-aabang sa langit..
Sa mga ulap sumisilip..
Sa likod ng mga tala..
Kahit sulyap lang darna....!!!

Ang swerte nga naman ni Ding
Lagi ka nyang kapiling
Kung ako sa kanya
Niligawan na kita...

Mapapansin kaya
Sa dami ng 'yong ginagawa
Kung kaagaw ko ang lahat
May pag asa bang makilala ka...

Awit na nananawagan
Baka sakaling napakikinggan
Pag ibig na palaisipan
Sa kanta na lang idaraan

Nag-aabang sa langit..
Sa mga ulap sumisilip..
Sa likod ng mga tala..
Kahit sulyap lang darna....!!!

Tumalon kaya ako sa bangin
Para lang iyong sagipin..
Ito ang tanging paraan
Para mayakap ka..

Darating kaya
Sa dami ng ginagawa
Kung kaagaw ko sila
Paano na kaya?..

Awit na nananawagan
Baka sakaling napakikinggan
Pag ibig na palaisipan
Sa kanta na lang idaraan...

Nag-aabang sa langit..
Sa mga ulap sumisilip..
Sa likod ng mga tala..
Kahit sulyap lang darna....!!!

Filipino Artist

Christian Bautista

Christian Bautista is a Filipino singer, actor and a Bench model. He is a finalist of the Philippine reality show Star in a Million shown on ABS-CBN2.
Christian Bautista, Asia’s Pop Idol
Christian Bautista is a singing sensation in the Philippines. He has established a name for himself in the music scene not only in his home country, but also in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.
First thrust in the spotlight as ABS-CBN’s Star In A Million’s most popular runner-up, his future was sealed soon after signing a recording contract with hit-making label Warner Music Philippines. With chart-topping hits like "Colour Everywhere," "Hands to Heaven," and “The Way You Look At Me,” Christian's fame soared and life was never the same again for the 24-year old Landscape Architecture graduate. Christian’s self-titled album reached Multi-Platinum status in the Philippines and Indonesia.
Christian’s international success began with “The Way You Look At Me,” getting frequent airplay in Indonesian radio stations. The song became an instant hit among the country’s young music lovers, even if they had yet to see the artist behind the ballad. The song, penned by American composers Andrew Fromm and Keith Follese, became so popular that record label Warner Indonesia decided to bring Christian there, to the great delight of the fans whose support for the Filipino singer has been steadily growing and even spreading to neighboring countries.
Last February 2006, Indonesia’s largest TV station, RCTI, aired “Completely — Christian Bautista,” the young balladeer’s first-ever Indonesian TV special. Christian performed with the biggest names in the Indonesian music scene — the famous 40-piece Magenta Orchestra, the young musical genius Andi Rianto, and the country’s two female divas, Krisdayanti and Titi D.J.
“Completely,” Christian Bautista’s much awaited sophomore album, has received a Gold Record Award on its first week of release in the Philippines. The album has spawned hit songs “Everything You Do,” “Invincible,” and “I Can Love You Easy.”
Apart from appearing in live concerts all over Asia, the Middle East, and the US, Christian is a regular performer on ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime show, “ASAP,” as part of the “Champions” group. He is managed by STAGES, an event and talent management company in the Philippines.

Personal Life
Christian Bautista admitted on an entertainment show called 'The Buzz' that he is currently dating fellow musician Rachelle Ann Go. He courted her for about two years and finally made their relationship public in 2006.
Christian Bautista studied at the University of the Philippines in Diliman and took up Landscape Architecture, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the aforementioned course. He was also a Table Tennis varsity player during college before focusing on singing and going into showbiz.

Kuh Ledesma

Real Name: MA. SOCORRO LEDESMA
Birthday: March 16
Birthplace: Bacolod City, Philippines

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS*
Kuh Ledesma's music career spans 25 years of performances which include more than 300 concerts, numerous awards in the Philippine music scene, and 18 albums in the local recording industry. She was the first Filipino singer to be the recipient of the Salem Music Awards in March 1989. In 1997 she released an international debut album entitled PRECIOUS, a collaboration of the best American and Filipino songwriters, arrangers and musicians.

Her singing career began when she joined Lastiko, then the Ensalada band in Bacolod while she was still in college taking up Nursing. Kuh and bandmates Toto Gentica and Jet Montelibano later went to Manila and formed the MUSIC & MAGIC band. It was her very successful stint performing with Music & Magic which proved to be pivotal to her career. The strong presence of the group in the live circuit paved the way for Kuh to snag the lead role in Alice Reyes' pop ballet, RAMA HARI. She eventually went solo with her first hit song DITO BA.

Kuh is known for her lavish concept shows, putting up solo concerts in venues like the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Araneta Coliseum, PICC and Folk Arts Theater in the 80's during a time when singers shunned large venues because they were difficult to fill.

She launched an all-Filipino concert AKO AY PILIPINO (1982) at the CCP which featured a repertoire of ethnic sounds, classic kundimans and beautiful pop songs in a refreshing production that displayed Kuh's passion for tapping into the rich node of indegenous art as well as contemporary pop music to produce alternative approaches to songs. The show eventually spinned off into a TV special and a double album.

This was immediately followed by another production at the CCP, INSPIRED MADNESS (1983), created in collaboration with film director Peque Gallaga and musical director Ryan Cayabyab featuring noveau musical arrangements and unconventional production design. In light of the state of the times back then it was also here where we see a glimpse of Kuh's political color as she quietly paid tribute to Ninoy Aquino at the end of the show by singing a beautiful a cappella of "Impossible Dream" and "You'll Never Walk Alone" (translation: "Hindi Ka Nag-iisa"). And she did this in CCP yet! 1984 through 1986 Kuh joined the APO Hiking Society in ANG PINOY NGA NAMAN! 1, 2, and 3 at the Folk Arts Theater.

In the 90's Kuh had a series of back-to-back concerts with foreign artists like Noel Pointer, Jack Jones, and Kenny Rankin (and later with The Platters and Michel Legrand). This later led to the popular POWER OF TWO concert series that had Kuh performing with local artists like Regine Velasquez, Pops Fernandez, and Jaya in a bid to show that artists can work together and go against formula in creating a good show.

Kuh has also appeared in films (ORO PLATA MATA, TINIMBANG ANG LANGIT, THE YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY) and theater (RAMA HARI and KAPINANGAN), and made numerous TV specials including the award-winning program KUH BY SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT.

Not content with being just a performer, Kuh has also formed her own production company (HEADLINE CONCEPTS), built alternative concert venues like the MUSIC MUSEUM and the REPUBLIC OF MALATE, owns a recording studio (BRAVO RECORDS) -- thus, giving her much artistic freedom and enabling her to produce and market her own work. She is known for looking out for new talents and helping jumpstart their careers through appearances in her concerts.

Kuh has also brough most of her shows abroad like her POWER OF TWO series and her DIVA2DIVA concert with Zsa Zsa Padilla which toured again in the US last November and December. Currently, Kuh marks her importance in the local music scene via rare, talked-about shows and a co-hosting spot in the Sunday variety show, "A.S.A.P. Mania."

This year Kuh celebrates her 25th year in the music industry through a series of shows at the Captain's Bar of the Mandarin Oriental Manila dubbed as "Kuh Ledesma Presents." Every month Kuh puts up a different show featuring artists of her choice. The series kicked off in February in time for the Valentine season, and with young pop idol Christian Bautista as special guest. Kuh is also set to release a number of albums this year as well as a

Regine Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez was born into a loving and supportive family on April 22, 1970 in Manila, Philippines. At an early age her parents recognized that she was a gifted singer and they quickly enrolled her into local and national singing contests in the Philippines. Mention her name to anyone who has lived in Asia over the last fifteen years, and take note of their reaction. The panting and perspiration should be enough of an explanation as to why we like her so much.

why is she famous?

To call Regine Velasquez "famous" may not be appropriate for a North American audience. After all, she's almost unknown on this side of the Pacific. In Asia, however, she has the type of star pow
er to make Jennifer Lopez look like a one-hit wonder. Albums like Drawn, R2K, and Reigne have all been smash hits and are the major reasons why she is so revered.

Madonna

  • Born: 16 August 1958
  • Birthplace: Bay City, Michigan
  • Best Known As: Pop superstar singer of "Like a Virgin"

Name at birth: Madonna Louise Ciccone

Madonna used a mixture of talent, pulchritude and relentless self-promotion to become one of the most famous recording artists of the 20th century. She released her self-titled first album in 1983 in the guise of a streetwise pop ragamuffin, and over time she kept one step ahead of the game by jumping from persona to persona: dance club queen, balladeer, cowgirl, channeler of the Mysterious East. Her other albums have included Like a Virgin (1984), Ray of Light (1998, Music (2000), American Life (2003) and Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005). She has also acted in over a dozen movies, including Dick Tracy (1990, with Warren Beatty) and A League of Their Own (1992, with Rosie O'Donnell). No stranger to controversy, Madonna has long been a favorite of the tabloids on topics ranging from her racy videos and TV appearances to her sometimes-mystical religious beliefs to her marriages to actor Sean Penn (1985-89) and filmmaker Guy Ritchie (2000-present). Her daughter Lourdes was born in October of 1996, fathered by Madonna's personal trainer, Carlos Leon. In August of 2000 Madonna and Ritchie had a son, Rocco. In October of 2006 they adopted a a motherless 13-month-old child, David Banda, from the African country of Malawi.

Madonna attended the University of Michigan on a dance scholarship... Her daughter Lourdes is named for the site where Bernadette Soubirous saw visions of the Virgin Mary... A fall from a horse in 2005 left the pop star with a broken collarbone and three cracked ribs.

Vanessa Williams

Born: 18 March 1963
Birthplace: Millwood, New York
Best known as: The first African-American to become Miss America
Blue-eyed, sultry Vanessa Williams was the first African-American to win the Miss America crown (1983). She was forced to turn in her tiara after Penthouse magazine published nude photos of her, but she bounced back with a successful career as a singer, starting with the 1988 dance-pop album The Right Stuff. The 1990s saw Williams branch out into Broadway and make a respectable go at the movies, playing semi-tough babes opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Eraser (1996) and Samuel L. Jackson in Shaft (2000). In 1999 she married NBA player Rick Fox. Her albums include The Comfort Zone (1991) and Everlasting Love (2005).
Extra credit: Williams attended Syracuse University... She is no relation to Vanessa Williams, the actress with the same name who appeared on the TV show Melrose Place. By coincidence, the former Miss America starred in the movie Soul Food (1997) while the second Ms. Williams starred in the cable TV series of the same name.

Avril Lavigne

Wild child Avril Lavigne hit big in summer 2002 with her spiky-fun debut song, "Complicated," shifting pop music into a different direction.Lavigne, who was 17 at the time, didn't seem concerned with the glamour of the TRL-dominated pop world and such confidence allowed her star power to soar. The middle of three children in small-town Napanee, Ontario, Lavigne"s rock ambitions were noticeable around age two. By her early teens, she was already writing songs and playing guitar. The church choir, local festivals, and county fairs also allowed her voice heard, and luckily, Arista Records main manAntonio "L.A." Reid was listening. He offered her a deal, and at 16,Her musical dreams became reality. With Reid's assistance and a new Manhattan apartment,Lavigne found herself surrounded by prime songwriters and producers, but it wasn't impressive enough for her to continue. She had always relied on her own ideas to create a musical spark, and things weren't going as planned. She wasn't disillusioned, though. She headed for Los Angeles and Nettwerk grabbed her. Producer/songwriterClif Magnes (Celine Dion,Wilson Phillips,Sheena Easton) weaked her melodic, edgy sound and her debut,Let Go, was the polished product. Singles such as "Complicated" and "Sk8er Boi" hit the Top Ten while "I'm with You" and "Losing Grip" did moderately well at radio. Butch Walker of the Marvelous 3, Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida, and Don Gilmore( Linkin Park,Good Charlotte,) signed on to produce her second album, Under My Skin, which appeared in May 2004. The album topped the Billboard charts and produced the number one hit "My Happy Ending." Other singles like "Nobody's Home" and "Fall to Pieces" did respectably well also. Settling down a bit from her punk rock wild child persona, Lavigne married her boyfriend of two years, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, in July 2006. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide

Pinoy Band Artist

The Eraserheads

Eraserheads was one of the most popular Pinoy rock bands in the Philippines during the alternative rock explosion of the early 1990s. The Eraserheads was also regarded as the band that opened the commercial doors for other aspiring Filipino Rock bands, like Rivermaya, Parokya ni Edgar, and Yano. Their fans affectionately call them "E-heads."

The band's debut album, Ultraelectromagneticpop, released in 1993 by BMG Records, was a commercial success. The album also brought the underground "college rock" scene into public awareness.

Their influence and contribution to Philippines music today is so great that they have often been called the "The Beatles of the Philippines."

In 1997, they won an award in the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards in New York, USA and the song "Ang Huling El Bimbo", won the Asian Viewer's Choice Award the previous year.

Original members (1989-2002)
Ely Buendia - lead vocals, rhythm guitars
Raimund Marasigan - drums, samples, percussions, back-up vocals
Marcus Adoro - lead guitar, back-up vocals
Buddy Zabala - bass guitar, back-up vocals

Rivermaya:

Never quite edgy enough to be considered alternative, yet too influenced by '80s new wave to be called pop, the Philippines' RiverMaya have been swimming between the waters of mass appeal and cutting-edge credibility since the early '90s. RiverMaya was actually created by the band's manager, Lizza Nakpil, in 1993. Nakpil wanted to construct a rock group and after auditioning numerous musicians and undergoing lineup changes, RiverMaya was formed with Bamboo Manalac (vocals), Perf de Castro (guitar), Nathan Azarcon (bass), Rico Blanco (keyboards), and Mark Escueta (drums). In 1994, the band released their self-titled debut album on BMG Records Pilipinas. Caught in the midst of a modern rock revolution in the Philippines, the LP went gold in a few months; it was eventually certified triple platinum. However, Castro then departed from the group to start his own band, Triaxis. With Castro gone, Blanco became the lead guitarist. In 1996, RiverMaya's second album, Trip, hit the shelves; it toppled its predecessor in sales, going quadruple platinum and receiving critical acclaim. A year later, the group's third effort, Atomic Bomb, continued their massive success. Manalac left RiverMaya in 1998, deciding to stay in America after a U.S. tour. Consequently, the band re-recorded their fourth album, 1999's It's Not Easy Being Green with Blanco singing. Although It's Not Easy Being Green sold well, it wasn't as popular as their previous hits; nevertheless, the group's rougher sound gained them more respect. In 2000, RiverMaya released Free through the Internet; true to its name, it didn't cost their fans a cent to obtain.

Isang Bandila

Isang Bandila
By:Rivermaya

Isang ugat, isang dugo
Isang pangalan, Pilipino
Isang tadhanang lalakbayin
Isang panata, isang bandila

Pekeng bayani
Pekeng paninindigan
Subukan naman nating pagtulung-tulungan
Paglayang ating minimithi
Hindi alamat, hindi konsepto
Ang bayanihang minana mo

Isang ugat, isang dugo
Isang pangalan, Pilipino
Isang landas na tatahakin
Isang panata, isang bandila

Isang ugat, isang dugo
Pare-parehong Pilipino
Mga tadhanang magkapatid

Isang panata, isang bandila
Isang bandila

You'll Be Safe Here

You'll Be Safe Here
By:Rivermaya

Nobody knows
Just why we’re here
Could it be fate
Or random circumstance
At the right place
At the right time
Two roads intertwine

And if the universe conspired
To meld our lives
To make us
Fuel and fire
Then know
Where ever you will be
So too shall I be

Chorus:

Close your eyes
Dry your tears
‘Coz when nothing seems clear
You’ll be safe here

From the sheer weight
Of your doubts and fears
Weary heart
You’ll be safe here

Remember how we laughed
Until we cried
At the most stupid things
Like we were so high
But love was all that we were on
We belong

And though the world would
Never understand
This unlikely union
And why it still stands
Someday we will be set free.
Pray and believe

Chorus:

When the light disappears
And when this world’s insincere
You’ll be safe here
When nobody hears you scream
I’ll scream with you
You’ll be safe here

Save your eyes
From your tears
When everything’s unclear
You’ll be safe here

From the sheer weight
Of your doubts and fears
Wounded heart

When the light disappears
And when this world’s insincere
You’ll be safe here

When nobody hears you scream
I’ll scream with you
You’ll be safe here

In my arms
Through the long cold night
Sleep tight
You’ll be safe here

When no one understands
I’ll believe
You’ll be safe,
You’ll be safe
You’ll be safe here
Put your heart in my hands
You’ll be safe here

I want to live forever
Inside the nights and days.
Wishing on a silver cloud,
Crawling across the moonbeams.
A summer night in heaven
Between the stars and waves.
Race across the old bonfire;
Trample on my heartbeat.

I wanted to turn you on
My favorite song.
Wanted to be near you
But somebody owns you now.

I love you with a fire,
Ablazing till times end
But what good is a heart
When it shudders to speak.
I guess it's too late now.

"I wanted to turn you on
My favorite song.
Wanted to be near you
But (of course) somebody owns you now.
(And) I tried to live somehow
Somebody owns you now" (Repeat 2x)

Somebody owns you now
